Program - Day 1 - Friday, 2 April 2021

6.00am to 8.30am - Breakfast

The day kicks off with a full hot and cold (you choose)  buffet breakfast in the McLaren Vale Function Centre.

8.30am - Daily Briefing

This will be the first of our Daily Briefings, during which we outline the schedule for the day and take care of any administration issues.  You will be given a Ticket and a lunch voucher this morning - don't lose either!

9:15 am

Board the waiting Buses and be chauffered to Goolwa, where you can explore the historic Goolwa Wharf Precinct for a while, then...

10.40 am

Board the (waiting for us) Cockle Train (make sure you have your ticket!).  Enjoy the journey through Middleton and Port Elliot to the Encounter Bay coast.  The train climbs to the top of the coastal cliffs where you can take in some of the most picturesque scenery on the Fleurieu Peninsula and the Southern Ocean, before arriving in Victor Harbor*.

Cockle Train

Spend your 'Day Trip to Victor' as you wish.  Take the horsedrawn tram or a short stroll over the wooden causeway that connects the mainland to Granite island Recreation Park, browse the Beachside Markets, visit the SA Whale Centre, or just explore the town.  Your Alfesta welcome pack has plenty of Victor Harbor-specific information, and you can also check out the Visitor Information Centre (near the start of the Granite Island Causeway.)

Lunch

As there is so much to see and do in Victor Harbor, we've given you a lunch voucher so you can choose your own lunch time and Lunch Venue.

2.25 pm

Be back at the Station by 2.25 pm AT THE LATEST!

When you've had enough of Victor Harbor (and we concede that is possible), make your way back to the Railway Station to board the Cockle Train and return to Goolwa.  The train departs at 2.35pm - make sure you are at the station and on board the train by 2.25pm.

The buses will take you back to McLaren Vale where you can spend your free time relaxing, recovering, or just washing the Alfa.

6.00pm  Pre-dinner drinks, then Dinner

Dinner at the McLaren Vale Function Centre.

(Note: Unless noted otherwise, all bar drinks during Alfesta are at attendees' own cost).

* Yes, that is the official spelling.  Perhaps, over the course of Alfesta, you can discover why...

Check out what's in store for Alfesta Day 2 - Saturday...

Note: While the event organisers have made every attempt to provide the latest information on this website, changes may occur to the actual Alfesta program.
